Sword Art Online Game Rules
- Death is the only true deciding factor in this game which obviously occurs as soon as your health points hit the critical mass. In game you can die from many things much like the real world has to offer falling from great heights without having trained your acrobatics skills, diseases you procure while interacting with strange substances or beasts (these acting as a poison dot that slowly drain your health points if not dealt with), or the most common mortal combat with beasts.
- Housing rules are rather simple, once you or a group of your friends earn enough money through mission, jobs, or trading you can procure shelter. Sleeping is the main method of replenishing health and in residential areas you are completely safe from being killed (exceptions being your family pulling the plug on you IRL). You can either stay at the inns or buy houses when you have earned enough money. Once you obtained a house there is no upkeep for utilities. For housing outside of the spawn points there is a protection fee that is paid on a monthly basis that keeps monsters from demolishing your house and killing you in your sleep.
- The loot drop in this game is usually quite random, however for rping purposes we will request that you make your own custom weapons for the lower levels that you can find as well as be added to the item drop page which will be accessible to other potential players, unique item drops will take place most upon the holidays or after certain missions have been completed. In the request section you can ask for an item you wish to be more likely in the drop but this chance of uncertainty makes the game more interesting who know you might even get the item that someone else wants and be able to trade them.
- Player Killing (PK) rules are quite simple for me I have always been a proud supporter of plot lines and character development. The idea of having those villains that join the game to slay other character displeases me but it is a valid point of games especially in this series. As a whole you are not allowed to kill off another person's character without first discussing the thread in advance with the other individual, this is to cut down on headaches for staff members. With that said Death enabled will be in play on a boss mission as an admin will act out the attack of the monster whether they kill you or npc’s that you have made to assist. With that said I personally don’t want to many of us dying so on most occasions we probably will only have npc’s die during them but if someone wants to meet a heroic end we can arranged it/back stabbing of characters. Those who commit crimes against others will be labeled with an orange indicator about their head.
- Monster encounter rules are also quite simple you make up your own beasts you wish to fight the only catch is that in a location based around the the level you are in constructs the minimum strength of the monster that you will be fighting. You must have two monsters for every party member in a squad of five or greater. Groups smaller may have one monster that is double the normal level or one monster outnumbering the group (for instance having swarm encounters are great with a squad of people/or a mini boss that must be requested).
- Alternate Characters will be allowed on this forum as we all understand that it can be rather boring to be locked into one particular mindset. This also will allow the community to grow in size, but only if people are able to prove that they are capable of maintaining that many alternate characters. In order to qualify for a second character you must have leveled up to level 5 with the first. Each one after works the same way but grows progressively harder as they have to both have to show that they are still active.
